So You Think You Can Blog?

uncle-samCalling all Penn State students that think they have what they have what it takes to be an Onward State contributor! We’re looking for new writers, photographers, and videographers for the new semester.

Writers
We’re looking for snark. We’re looking for more schtick than you can shake a stick at. Our writers output generally 3-5 stories a week and attend one weekly staff meeting. Writers are encouraged to write what they like to write about. We like to publish our stories ASAP and get the scoop on the news before anyone else does. Think you can handle it? Want the world to see your musings on an award winning blog? Email us!

Photographers
Have an eye for framing that shot just right? Have that ability to be anywhere and everywhere when news breaks? Do you know how to capture light when there is none? Our photographers get media passes to some great events as well as photograph newsworthy events around school. We also like the occasional “just because it looks damn good” photo post on the website. You can have a lot of creative freedom and get to expand your photographic horizons here at Onward State. So if you’ve got the shutterbug, email us!

Videographers
Not to sound desperate, but we’re desperate. Our go-to gal Abbey is taking off for the spoils of Europe and we need someone to replace theĀ irreplaceable. Our videographer is responsible to videotaping original Onward State content and editing it into a visually appealing branded package for the website. We’re looking to increase our video production this semester with some new recurring content. As the videographer, you will have creative input in the future of these projects. So if you can deal with the AfterEffects of Vegas, then you’re our (wo)man! Email us!
