J. Cole to Play HUB as Part of Pringles Xtreme Tour

At Sunday night’s Boys Like Girls concert, SPA announced that pop-punk band We the Kings and rapper J. Cole will be visiting the HUB at University Park on October 22 as part of the Pringles Xtreme Campus Tour. The late-night concert is set to begin at 10 p.m.The tour will also make a stop at Penn State Beherend on October 17, according to the tour schedule.

Students can get tickets for free with a valid Penn State ID starting Monday, October 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the first floor of the HUB.

J.Cole is an up-and-coming member of the Roc-A-Fella family, the first artist signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. Cole’s first album, Cole World, is coming out later this year. You’ve probably already jammed out to his hit “Who Dat” (it’s embedded below if you haven’t).

We the Kings is sort of like Boys Like Girls. The band has numerous radio hits like “Check Yes, Juliet” and “Heaven Can Wait.”  Touring with bands like Cartel and All Time Low, We the Kings has quite the name for itself in the pop-punk genre.

These two bands are sure going to make a hell of a lot of noise, but if you’re still questioning the lack of entertainment this event will provide take a line from J. Cole’s “Who Dat.”

“Who dat?! Who dat?! B**** I got the flame, so don’t worry ’bout no muthaf****’ name,” J.Cole sings. “Now who else wants to f*** with Hollywood Cole?”

Moral of the story, it doesn’t matter the name, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing, as long as you’re having fun. Well that, and apparently don’t fuck with J.Cole.

Wash your home jersey, stock up on cases of Natty Light and make sure the cornhole and ladder golf sets have all their pieces. It’s almost football season and I can almost already smell the burgers cooking at 10 a.m. To celebrate the upcoming season, we at OnwardState along with our new friends from Stateshades.com will be running a contest giving away pairs of sunglasses.
