The first general meeting of Innoblue @ UP will be held this Thursday, January 27, at 8:00 pm in 102 Business. Innoblue @ UP is the registered student organization charged with advancing Innoblue Inc's interests at the Penn State University Park campus. That means the student org can qualify for funding to host events like Demo Day and offer some services to its student ventures.
Innoblue @ UP is headed by Innoblue lieutenant Drew Mohoric and it seems to be positioning itself as the go-to undergraduate club for students interested in consulting and entrepreneurship. Not sure what the Penn State Entrepreneurs Network will feel about that, but Innoblue hasn't minded entering an already occupied space before... I'm looking at you, Lion Launch Pad.
The Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Council announced a partnership yesterday to create the IFC/PHC Community Coalition. The initiative is apparently the first of its kind; though the IFC, PHC, and the other two Greek councils have collaborated in the past, this seems to be the first time that the IFC and PHC have joined forces in a "official" way.
Onward State sat down yesterday afternoon with leadership from both of the councils to learn more about the plans. Led by IFC President Dan Florencio and PHC President Paige Rothaus, the IFC/PHC Community Coalition has three main policy initiatives at this point. This Friday and Saturday, the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments will hold its fourth Council Weekend of this academic year. The Council, as always, has a very busy weekend planned. Most notably, representatives from the three other PASS schools (Temple, Lincoln, and Pitt) will make presentations on issues at their universities as well as statewide. The Council is also working on legislation to link equivalent clubs at all the campuses, voting on what the Student Activity Fee will be next year, and will also be looking at legislation for a Capital Day in Harrisburg. The featured speaker will be Madlyn Hanes, Vice President for the Commonwealth Campuses, and former Chancellor of the Harrisburg campus.
For the first 17 minutes of Wednesday night's game, it looked as though Penn State's NCAA Tournament hopes were floundering away. A loss to 8-11 Iowa, a team with only one Big Ten win, would almost certainly put a defining blemish on the Nittany Lion resume. But that's the nice thing about having seniors leading your team.
A 10-0 run to close the first half and a strong second half effort propelled Penn State to a 65-51 victory, keeping their hopes of playing in the Big Dance come March a reality.

I have had this account for family stuff. I don't want family pics and family posts going all over the place.The other facebook page is for recruiting and public stuff. I have two pages.
Onward State has unlinked to Paterno's private page and hopes that you respect his wishes for privacy.
Jay Paterno may very well be the most social media savvy member of the Penn State community outside of the student body. He writes for StateCollege.com and keeps up a pretty decent Twitter account. He's even on The Facebook, as father JoePa might call. It just got a bit harder to find him on that last one though.
Sometime this week, JayPa changed his name to Al Smith. Why would he do such a thing?
