It was close early, but Penn State managed to pull away against an over-matched Eastern Michigan for an eventual 34-6 victory. Here are five things (plus a photo-gallery!) to take away from the win as the Nittany Lions get ready to play Indiana next Saturday to open the Big Ten schedule.
Penn State students, rejoice. Starting today, eLion is rolling out a feature called 'Schedule Planner'. This new online application allows students to compare their non-class schedule conflicts with open courses to make scheduling easier.
As we reported last year, ITS has been evaluating alternatives to ANGEL since Blackboard will be eliminating the course management system in 2014. So how did the 2010-2011 pilots of Blackboard, Moodle and Desire2Learn (D2L) go?
Early this past summer, we reported that a Pennsylvania House resolution had been introduced by Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre & Mifflin) to denote September 3, 2011 as “Coach Paterno Day.” At the time, Benninghoff said that he had been hoping for months to find a time for Paterno to visit the state legislature and be honored in person. Apparently, Coach Paterno's schedule just never lined up with that of our local politicians.
Is there any style of food better represented in State College than Chinese? Off hand, I can count more than a half-dozen Asian restaurants, and that's not including the two new ones that opened just in time to welcome students back for the start of the new semester. But while Penn Staters are plenty familiar with Hunan Wok, Uncle Chen's, and Maki Yaki, newer options like Yummy Cafe and China Dragon are unfamiliar to most--but after last week, not to some members of our intrepid staff.
Rental season begins this week for several downtown realtors. For those of you who have never witnessed this circus, it’s when kids camp out in front of the realtors days in advance to lock up an apartment for the following year. Check out more after the jump.
