Hoops Madness to Feature Rapper Big Sean

On October 25th, rapper and 2012 BET Best New Artist Big Sean will be performing at Rec Hall for free as a part of the Hoops Madness basketball event.

Hoops Madness is a kick-off event to give fans the chance to see the men’s and women’s basketball teams before the season starts. Each team will be introduced to the crowd and will give a dance performance. Coach Pat Chambers and Coach Coquese Washington will also address the crowd. Students in the audience will be picked for competitions to win prizes.

After the introductions, G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean will take the stage to close the event. His career has sky-rocketed since the release of Cruel Summer, a compilation album featuring artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, and 2Chainz. The album took the #1 spot on the US Billboard for Top Rap, R&B and Hip Hop Albums.

Hoops Madness is free for all Penn State students. Doors open at 6:30 and the event will begin at 7. Those students who have purchased season tickets for Penn State Men’s Basketball will be allowed early entry at 6:15.
