Tom Ridge Endorses Bob Jubelirer for Trustee

Former state senator Bob Jubelirer has scored one of the highest-profile endorsements for the Board of Trustees alumni election. Yesterday, Senator Jubelirer shared on his Facebook page that Tom Ridge, who resigned the Pennsylvania governorship in 2001 to become the first Homeland Security Secretary, endorsed him for Trustee. This announcement came after the first day of alumni voting.

There have been several new endorsements in the past week and Onward State has updated its list of supporters.

1. Kathleen Pavelko

O. Richard Bundy III, the pair mutually endorsed each other.

4. Paul Suhey

Keith Masser, the current Chairman of the Board endorsed Suhey “with no reservations.”

Paul Silvis, a Governor appointee to the Board of Trustees, Silvis argues Suhey’s history with the Paterno family can “bring some healing.”

Matt Millen, a retired NFL linebacker, former CEO of the Detroit Lions, and ESPN analyst.

“I don’t know all of the politics behind it,” Millen said Monday. “I know Paul. I know his character, his family. I know he tries to do the right thing. He would be the first guy I would vote for.”

7. Ted Brown

Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship (PS4RS)

Franco Harris, who sits on the PS4RS election committee.

David Paterno, which has been interpreted as a Paterno family endorsement.

Lou Prato, a Penn State historian and co-founder of the Penn State All-Sports Museum.

11. Bill Cluck

Valerie Plame, a former CIA operative, novelist, and 2009 Homecoming Grand Marshal.

12. Stephanie Deviney

Keith Masser, the Chairman of the Board, endorsed the Vice-Chairwoman.

Paul Silvis, for showing courage and leadership in the wake of the Sandusky Scandal.

18. O. Richard Bundy, III

Mike Herr, whose alias is “Mike the Mailman.”

Mimi Barash, the first Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees.

Richard Bundy, Blue Band Director.

Kathleen Pavelko, through a mutual endorsement.

20. Frederik Riefkohl

Michael Pilato, the famed muralist of Happy Valley.
