THON Hosts First Events of Fall 2013

Penn State campus life is in full swing with the beginning of the new semester, and with the repopulation of student life inevitably comes THON.

This Wednesday, THON will be host its first event of the fall semester in its annual night out at the State College Spikes game against the Williamsport Crosscutters at 7:05 p.m. Half of every $6 ticket sale benefits THON. Get there quickly, because the first 1,000 fans get a free Bill O’Brien bobblehead doll — which is worth the price of admission alone.

The pregame show will include the 2013 line dance, and the first pitch will be thrown by a Four Diamonds Family. Many THON families make a point to show up for the game so it’s the perfect time to meet up with your organization’s family and kick off the academic year right! During the game there will also be a silent auction for THON and Spikes merchandise. You can pick up your ticket at 210 HUB or at the gates prior to the game.

In other THON fundraising news, registration for the 13th Annual THON FT5K: Hope in Every Stride began yesterday. You can register online at THON.org, or in person at 210 HUB. The competitive race will feature chip timing, and there is also a fun run/walk option. The race will include the line dance, music, and the coveted 5K T-shirt. Even if you don’t plan on getting yourself out of bed for a Saturday morning workout, sign up anyway; you can credit your registration towards your organization’s total.

FTK, and hope to see you all there!
