Sometimes they say that you should save the best for last. Against the No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday afternoon in Madison, the Penn State Nittany Lions did just that, pulling off a 31-24 upset win in the final game of the season to finish 7-5. For what seems like the first time all year, the team put together a complete game, succeeding on both offense and defense against one of the best teams in the conference and the nation to end the 2013 season on a high note with a shocking upset.

0 Lady Lions Advance to Championship Game in Junkanoo Jam

The Lady Lions have joined the men’s basketball team in advancing to the championship games of their respective Thanksgiving weekend tournaments. Currently ranked 14th in the nation, the Lady Lions faced off against Oregon State last night in Freeport, a town on the island of Grand Bahama, defeating the Beavers 61-56 in the first round of the four-team Junakajoo Jam Championship tournament.

The Penn State Student-Athlete Advisory Board (or SAAB) is hosting an online auction to raise money for THON, selling 24 items that would interest just about any Penn State sports fan. The auction runs until Tuesday, December 10 at 3 p.m., so there’s plenty of time to get your hands on some Nittany Lions memorabilia, but the prices are going up quickly.

3 [Video] Throw Your Diamonds in the Air

Brittany Hicks and Chris Carmody came up with the idea of writing an original song about THON when the two were selected as Mr. and Mrs. PR for the Mr. and Mrs. THON Pageant. “Diamonds In The Air,” which features Carmody playing the guitar and rapping and Hicks singing, was a combined effort between the two earlier in the semester.

2 Men’s Soccer Advances To Sweet 16

The men’s soccer team kept its hopes of winning a national championship alive on Sunday, edging 10th-seeded UC Santa Barbara 1-0 thanks to a late second half goal. It was a physical battle, with the two teams collectively amassing 37 fouls and six cards, but Nittany Lions freshman Connor Maloney was the only player to find the back of the net in the game.
