How to Score a Date with a Penn State Athlete

Pay for it.

The Penn State Marketing Association (PSMA) will host an enormous date auction featuring many varsity athletes, including Penn State’s most eligible bachelor Christian Hackenberg, tonight at 7:45 p.m. in Heritage Hall. It costs $3 to enter, with all proceeds donated to THON. Attendance is capped at 300, so make sure to show up early if you want to buy someone.

There will be tons of athletes auctioned from the women’s volleyball, women’s gymnastics, women’s club softball, men’s basketball, men’s club lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s hockey, men’s baseball, and football teams.

A few of the confirmed athletes are below:

  • Quarterback Christian Hackenberg
  • Offensive tackle Garry Gilliam
  • Defensive tackle Brian Gaia
  • Women’s lacrosse midfielder Steph Lazo
  • Women’s lacrosse attack Megan Callaghan
  • Women’s lacrosse midfielder Tatum Coffey
  • Women’s lacrosse goalkeeper Cat Rainone
  • Women’s lacrosse midfielder Ally Heavens
  • Women’s volleyball defensive specialist Dominique Gonzalez
  • Women’s volleyball defensive specialist Carley Muller
  • Women’s gymnastics Samantha Musto
  • Women’s gymnastics Emma Sibson
  • Women’s gymnastics Savannah Soares

If last week’s Apollo auction is any indication, Hackenberg is no cheap date. A double-date with he and Adam Breneman went for $510; Akeel Lynch and Garry Gilliam went for $550.
