Snow, Ultra-Frigid Arctic Cold in State College Forecast

Snow will make its way into the State College area overnight and continue throughout the day on Thursday, according to Mark Paquette, AccuWeather meteorologist.

Total accumulation is expected to be 2 to 4 inches.

The storm is expected to move out of the region by Thursday night.

However, behind the storm is arctic air that will send temperatures to plummeting. We’re expecting a low temperature of 3 degrees on Thursday night and a high for Friday of 9 degrees. Making matters worse will be strong winds.

“While Friday will be sunny, it may be one of the worst days of the winter because it’s windy and brutally cold and it will just be horrific outside,” says Paquette.

Fortunately, temperatures are not expected to stay in the single digits. Over the weekend, temperatures will move back up into the 30s, according to Paquette.
