Two Recruits to Announce Decisions Tonight, Penn State a Finalist for Both

Penn State and James Franklin could have a recruiting day to remember today as the Nittany Lions await announcements from two major targets on Tuesday evening.

The first has been a long time headliner in Penn State’s 2015 recruiting class wish list — Pittsburgh native and offensive lineman Sterling Jenkins.

At 6-foot-8 and 305 pounds, Jenkins would be a massive blocker on Penn State’s offensive line in the coming years. Jenkins will choose between Ohio State and Penn State. Jenkins visited Penn State on Monday, according to several recruiting outlets.

Jenkins will announce on Tuesday, according to Mike Vukovcan of KDKA. Jenkins will reportedly broadcast his decision on KDKA-TV Sports at 6 p.m.

In addition to Jenkins’ announcement, quarterback Brandon Wimbush tweeted on Monday that he will announce his college decision on Tuesday evening as well. Wimbush is a four-star quarterback out of Jersey City, N.J., and is rated the sixth-best quarterback in the 2015 recruiting class.

Wimbush has offers from many schools but will reportedly choose between his top three picks — Penn State, Ohio State, and Miami.

If both players commit, Penn State will have 15 commitments for the 2015 recruiting class with 10 of those commitments coming in at the four-star level.

Penn State’s recruiting class was rated the best in the nation by many recruiting outlets but has “fallen” to the No.2 spot. That could change Penn State has a productive Tuesday evening.
