Cher Cancels Jordan Center Concert

UPDATE, 11/21: The Bryce Jordan Center announced today that Cher has canceled her Dressed to Kill Tour, including the scheduled stop at the Bryce Jordan Center on January 9.

According to the press release, she was diagnosed with an infection in September that affected her kidneys. She has made progress, but not enough to perform.

“I am totally devastated,” Cher said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I’m so proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back next year and finish what we started.”

Ticket holders can get a refund at the point of purchase.

Legendary pop singer Cher will return to the Bryce Jordan Center on Sept. 24 as part of her “Dressed to Kill” Tour.

The 67-year old announced the State College stop alongside 26 other additions to her current tour, which comes in the wake of her most recent album “Closer to the Truth.” She will be joined by Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo.

Known for hits like “Believe,” “The Shoop Shoop Song,” and “I Got You Babe” with former counterpart Sonny Bono, Cher has made quite an impact on pop music. She last appeared at the BJC in 2003 during what was, at the time, a farewell tour.

Tickets for the concert go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday and will be available at the Bryce Jordan Center, Eisenhower Auditorium, and the Penn State Downtown Theatre as well as through Ticketmaster. Prices will be $39.50, $97 or $131.50.
