AutoPort Episode of ‘Hotel Impossible’ To Air Tuesday

The episode of “Hotel Impossible” featuring the AutoPort will air on the Travel Channel at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

The description of the episode, titled “Swinging for the Fences,” includes some drama:

Anthony [Melchiorri, the host] is in full crisis mode when he finds out the 85-room Autoport Motel in State College, PA, is in foreclosure. With the hotel’s swinging reputation and lack of management, can Anthony convince the bank that the Autoport is worth saving?

And here’s a four-minute preview of the episode, in which Melchiorri gets real upset over the lack of signage and separation between the AutoPort and Clem’s, the hotel’s restaurant:

The AutoPort has been around since 1936, and it was purchased by Greg and Lynda Mussi from its original owner, the Meyer family, in 2007. But the hotel wasn’t doing so well, so “Hotel Impossible” rolled into town in June to film.

“The hotel was already struggling when they purchased it, and with no hotel experience, it’s been a struggle for the owners ever since,” said the show’s executive producer, Brian Leonard.
