Pitt Fan Blog The Point 412 Cancels Sale Of ‘Joe Knew’ Shirts

A Pitt Fan blog dubbed “The Point 412” made waves yesterday with its promotion of navy shirts bearing the message “Joe Knew” in reference to the Jerry Sandusky scandal that were to be sold ahead of the Pitt-Penn State rivalry clash.

The blog’s tweet generated significant backlash from the Penn State community given its ignorant insensitivity, prompting the blog to cancel all orders and apparently terminate its account.

According to the blog, news of the shirt garnered The Point members some harassment, leading to the cancellation. We’re all for lighthearted prodding and taunting, but gimmicks like that cross the line. Thankfully, the shirts won’t be making an appearance during what’s expected to be one of the biggest games of the season for the two programs.
