Your Best Bar Tour Themes Of 2017

Classes may have ended, but the drinking has just begun. With the weather improving — minus a brief tornado warning — bar crawl season is in full swing. We asked for your most creative bar tour shirts and themes of 2017 and you delivered.

Without further ado, here are the best bar tour themes of 2017.

Nacho Average Bar Tour

Nothing could stop this group in their pursuit of the best State College nachos. The group selected their drinking locations based on the places to stop for nachos, with a final stop at a special non-alcoholic location: Yallah Taco. Nacho chips on the back of the shirt were designed to personify the locations the group planned to visit. This is definitely the tastiest bar tour we’ve ever heard of.

Ski Team Races To The Bar

While they may be used to racing on the mountain, the Alpine Racing Ski Team is also racing to the bar. The front of this shirt includes a design inspired by Patagonia, a brand the team wears throughout the year. The back showcases giant slaloms that name the bar locations the team intended to stop at.

The Slut Brunch Bar Tour

This bar crawl came with a name we will never forget and that the founders can’t remember. It started as a group of friends drunkinly changing the name of their GroupMe to Slut Brunch, even though members couldn’t remember the purpose behind the name.

Luckily, the name stuck and became the theme of this group’s legendary bar tour. The shirt includes a picture of Nicki Minaj with a stack of pancakes on the thigh and a mimosa in the other hand. The shirts were a hit and garnered a lot of attention as this group made its way downtown.

The True Bar Explorer

Some nicknames stick, and others turn into a hilarious theme for a a bar crawl. This group of friends was inspired by their friend’s nickname, Dadler. Eventually this name combined with Dora and became the theme and design for their senior year bar tour. Nothing can stop these bar explorers.

Bonus: Onward State’s “Bar Tours Among Us” Bar Tour

Story time: We created our bar tour theme this year shortly after our Twitter account was hacked. The original theme was the “@OnwardState Angels Among Us Bar Tour” to commemorate our lost account. The shirts were pink and we planned to hit everywhere from Champs to Zeno’s (well, that part is still the plan).

Unfortunately, because there are, like, six 21-year olds on staff and we didn’t feel like paying $40 a shirt, we had to scrap the order. Never a blog to miss a chance to make the most of an unfavorable situation, we rummaged through our closets and drawers to dig up some great Onward State and other random bar tour shirts of the past. We settled on the “Bar Tours Among Us Bar Tour” where we’ll all wear shirts from great events of the past like the Herb Hand Pizza Crawl and “Keith Knows Podcasts.” Come hang out with us tomorrow all over town (but honestly with the highest likelihood we’ll be at the Phyrst).
