OS Reviews: Wings Over Happy Valley’s CBD-Infused Menu

At this point, its no secret that April 20 is a widely known and recognized event on the calendar.

Some businesses, such as Wings Over Happy Valley, are known to recognize this and help celebrate the big day. This year, the restaurant offered one-day-only CBD-infused items that were sure to please any curious college student.

Naturally, our hungriest and most festive staffers set out to see what was up with these CBD-infused wings and tater tots. Here are their thoughts:

Frankie Marzano: Wings

I was honestly quite impressed with these. The chicken tenders were very crispy but moist on the inside. You can also never go wrong with garlic parmesan. I didn’t really know what to expect before trying these for the first time, but it’s safe to say that I will most definitely be getting these the next time this holiday day rolls around.

Haylee Yocum: Tenders & Fries

This was my first time eating at Wings Over in general, so there was a lot to take in here. Obviously, no waffle fries are better than Chick-fil-A, but these were pretty dang tasty. In my opinion, the chicken tenders could have used a bit more seasoning.

In regards to the CBD, I’m not sure if you ever would have tasted it. There was no distinct smell or taste that accompanied the chicken, but I’m not sure if CBD even has a smell or taste. I’m curious about how much CBD is actually in the garlic parm sauce or if my currently relaxed mood is just a placebo effect to help me ignore the chemistry exam I just failed.

Charles Reinert: Tenders

I got the tenders, which is normally what I get from the restaurant. But this time, it was a bit different. I don’t know how “effective” these tenders were, but I do know that I took a good three-and-a-half-hour-long nap after eating these for lunch. Take that as you will.

Tobey Prime: Tater Tots

To be honest, I don’t really order tater tots when I go to restaurants. However, the garlic parmesan and CBD mix definitely intrigued me.

Coming in at $4.20 (nice), these tater tots were phenomenal. I couldn’t get enough of these things. The tots had a perfect crunch on the outside but a nice and fluffy inside. The garlic parmesan was a great touch that added a burst of flavor to your taste buds. To be completely honest, these might be some of the best tater tots I’ve ever had.

My only knock on these tots is the price. I get the 4/20 joke, but the number of tots you’re getting just doesn’t seem to be fully worth the price. I feel like I could buy a whole frozen bag of tots at McLanahan’s for around the same price. However, the flavor is unmatched.

As far as the CBD goes, it didn’t change the flavor at all. After eating, I did feel calm, but I think this had more to do with the fact that I ate great food rather than the CBD itself.
