SOMA to Host DIIV, Infected Flies, and Pantomime Dame at the HUB

The HUB will be filled with the indie beats of Brooklyn-based band, DIIV, with opening acts, the Infected Flies and Pantomime Dame.  This is a free Thursday night show, hosted by SOMA at Alumni Hall beginning at 8 p.m. with doors opening at  7:30 p.m.

DIIV is an indie quartet that was originally founded in 2011 as a solo project by Zachary Cole Smith, the guitarist from Beach Fossils. After signing with the label, Captured Tracks, the band released the singles “Sometime,” “Human,” and “Geist” as well as their first studio album, Oshin, which was released this past summer. They have opened for bands like the Vaccines and Japandroids.

The Infected Flies are a three-piece indie-punk band from Perkasie, Pa. who get their influences from the likes of Nirvana, the Pixies, and the White Stripes.  They have two EPs out right now: A Punk, a Funk, and a Zoot Suit (2011) and their summer release Here is one song called “Drama.”

Pantomime Dame is a local State College band that blends genres such as garage, glam, and indie rock. Check out their EP Airplanes here!
