Two Michigan State Players Involved in Altercation at Nittany Lion Inn

Two Michigan State basketball players were involved in a verbal altercation that eventually turned physical at the Nittany Lion Inn this morning.

The two players, who have not yet been named, exchanged punches after their verbal argument escalated in the second-floor lobby. Both players suffered minor cuts, but did not seek further medical attention, per MLive.com. According to police chief Tyrone Parham, the Nittany Lion Inn sustained minor damage.

The incident which was reported at 11:11 a.m. is still under investigation.  No arrests were made and no charges have been filed at this point in time.

The Nittany Lions and Spartans face off tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center. The status of the two players for tonight’s game is not clear.

UPDATE: 3:42 p.m.

The players involved in this morning’s altercation were Adreian Payne (8.5 ppg) and Branden Dawson (10.5 ppg), per Diamond Leung. Neither will start tonight against Penn State.
