With 19 days to go until the beginning of THON Weekend 2014, over 70 THON families made an advance trip to the Bryce Jordan Center for the annual THON Hoops.
Youtube celebrity Joe Penna, better known as the Mystery Guitar Man, typically produces comedic music videos for his 2.8 million subscribers. This week, Penna -- a self-described space nerd -- decided to break the mold of his recent uploads by producing a feature on Penn State's Lunar Lion, the university's entry in the $20 million Google Lunar X Prize competition.
Franklin has flipped yet another recruit from Vandy to Penn State -- this time, it's three-star prospect Grant Haley, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back from Atlanta, Ga.
Three-star quarterback Trace McSorley has flipped his commitment from Vanderbilt to Penn State, according to a report by 247sports' Barton Simmons.
"No university has ever done this before," says student team leader Ajeeth Ibrahim. "This is going to be the biggest thing to happen to the space industry, probably since the Apollo moment.”
By the end of 2015, Penn State hopes to complete the first privately funded mission to the moon, ever, for a shot at $20 million in prize money through the Google Lunar X Prize competition. To that end, the Lunar Lion, the Penn State-led Google Lunar X Prize team, has just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Rockethub, with the goal of raising $400,000 by Feb. 25.
