A bronze statue of Joe Paterno seated on a bench will be erected outside the Tavern Restaurant in November 2015. The statue, designed by sculptor Zenos Frudakis, is in response to Penn State's decision to remove Joe Paterno's statue from Porter Road in July 2012. At the time, President Rodney Erickson called the statue a “lightning rod of controversy.”
The inaugural State of State conference was only a few weeks ago but planning has already begun for State of State 2015. Claudia Kotchick was selected as the next executive director, and she has tons of ideas for bringing together community members for a day of discussion.

Beginning today, the Panhellenic Council is hosting its annual Women's Empowerment Week. The goal of this week is to raise awareness and provide a call to action for all women to stand up for themselves, especially women around the world who are denied freedom, voice, and opportunity.
