Both State College and Penn State offer a wide variety of entertainment options, from 26 bars and clubs in the downtown area to a number of music and performance venues, including the Bryce Jordan Center and The State Theatre. Happy Valley has hosted such performing greats as Kanye West, Bruce Springsteen, Florida Georgia Line, and The Weeknd. Student groups like SOMA and SPA also provide both national acts and student art and entertainment on campus and the community is home to an up-and-coming local music scene.
If you’re lyrical mastermind with mad flow who also happens to be a Mac Miller fan, then your dream night might be just around the corner. The Bryce Jordan Center has announced the Macadelic Freestyle Competition, a chance for fans to submit a video of themselves rapping over one of one of Mac’s beats. The best submission, as judged by Mac himself, will win two tickets to his April 3rd show at the BJC and a meet-and-greet with him following the show.
