I think that the vast, vast majority of students will celebrate the holiday responsibly and that those small few who take it too far shouldn’t be a reflection of the entire holiday. Hundreds, if not thousands of people are visiting State College this weekend, reuniting plenty of friends for one great day.

I’m very much for State Patty’s. It’s an alternative for those who don’t want to miss class on St. Patrick’s Day (a Wednesday), and it’s a great time for 99% of those involved. I think it’s absurd to try to make me responsible for the few idiots who act dangerously. Would you ask me to be responsible for them on a normal weekend? If you would, that’s just as absurd. If you wouldn’t, then I don’t understand your mixed signals, because my celebration on Saturday won’t have an impact on other’s decision to celebrate.

It’s stupid and pointless. Most who defend it so vigorously were not even students when it was contrived.

It was supposed to be a one-time thing and it was awesome. Now, not so much.
