Moving Forward

The events of the past nine months reflect poorly on all Penn Staters, as not only did we help to build this cult of personality, but allowed it to fester and prioritized athletics over academics and even human decency.

Anyone who was truly shocked that the protection of a cult of personality took precedence over true moral standard has turned a blind eye to the true effect of athletic idolatry.

We must take our indictment as men and women and realize that there is more to our University than athletic victories and scholarships.

We now have the chance to rebuild our University to the true standards of academic excellence. I for one, welcome the opportunity.
