Former UPUA Student Body President Gavin Keirans along with forrmer UPUA Off-Campus Representative Thomas A. Shakely hatched together the idea in the Fall of 2011 of forming a group of recent college alumni and current students who share a common background in Catholic education, athletics, faith, and service. Thus the Philadelphia Catholic League Alumni Corps was formed!
