Penn State: Sandusky Camps Not Affiliated with University

Despite a Deadspin report this morning declaring “an implicit endorsement of the camp at the very least,” a member of the Penn State Sports Camp department denied any association between the university and Jerry Sandusky’s Football camps, which were run through Sandusky’s personal company, Sandusky Associates. The camps had been held over the past decade at various Penn State satellite campuses.

The department member, who did not identify herself, was very specific when asked if Sandusky’s camp had any connection with the University, saying:

“There was no affiliation with Penn State and the Sandusky sports camps.”

When asked about the listings in Penn State’s sports camp brochure, which can also be found in the Deadspin article, the representative was again adamant about the non-affiliation:

“We had no association but good try, good try, goodbye.” Click.

Despite the Dead Spin report, according to the University, there is no association between the Sandusky Associates camp and Penn State.
