Penn State Football’s DJ Brown To Transfer To Louisiana Tech

DJ Brown is leaving Happy Valley to join the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

The former Penn State defensive back announced Monday that he will transfer to Louisiana Tech via his Twitter account.

Brown entered the NCAA transfer portal back on February 3 and has now come to a decision on where he will play next.

He redshirted his freshman year back in 2017 and hasn’t gotten the playing time he would have hoped to get in the seasons that followed. After not receiving any playing time in 2018, the Georgia native totaled five tackles, one pass deflection, and one forced fumbles this past season.

Brown’s departure will take away a depth piece from the Nittany Lions’ defense. However, with Tariq Castro-Fields, Keaton Ellis, and Marquis Wilson in the picture, playing time would have been hard to come by for the former three-star recruit.

Brown is now the seventh player to transfer away from Happy Valley just this year, along with Daniel Joseph, Mac Hippenhammer, Damion Barber, Ricky Slade, Hunter Kelly, and CJ Holmes. Additionally, former five-star recruit Justin Shorter transferred to Florida this past December.
