Kirk Herbstreit Emotional Over White Out Postponement

Kirk Herbstreit loves Penn State football, and he’s plenty disappointed that he won’t get to watch it this fall.

The college football analyst was seen on ESPN shortly after the Big Ten announced its decision to cancel all fall sports, and explained that his biggest disapointment is that there won’t be a White Out at Beaver Stadium this fall. Herbstreit has already described the annual tradition as the best atmosphere in college football , and has become a massive Nittany Lion fan over the past few seasons.

Herbie was ready for there to be White Out conditions at Beaver Stadium when Ohio State came to Happy Valley this fall , but he’ll have to wait a little while for his favorite college football tradition.

“On November 7 not having a chance [to go to the White Out], of all the [disappointments] on your graphic, that would be the one that stands out to me,” Herbstreit said.

“I always tell people that have never been to Penn State, or they ask ‘What’s your favorite venue to watch a game?’… You go to Penn State at night when it’s a White Out with that student section, it’s as good a scene there is,” Herbstreit added. “When Ohio State comes in there it seems to be amped even a few more notches.”

While the Big Ten has decided to postpone all fall sports, it added in its announcement that it will evaluate a “number of options” in the next few months, including moving seasons back to the spring.

We’ve never seen a spring White Out at Beaver Stadium, but if the Big Ten finds a way to make it happen, you can guarantee Herbstreit will find a way to get there.
