Penn State Football Ranked No. 10 In AP Top 25 Poll

Penn State football checked in at No. 10 in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll.

Because they weren’t originally scheduled to play this fall, the Nittany Lions, alongside their Big Ten rivals, weren’t included in previous regular-season polls this season.

James Franklin’s program joins a number of conference rivals in this week’s poll, including Ohio State (No. 6), Wisconsin (No. 19), and Michigan (No. 23).

The Nittany Lions also checked in at No. 10 in USA Today’s Coaches Poll this week. Penn State opened at No. 7 in that preseason poll, and fell to No. 13 last week. It’s now joined by three other Big Ten squads, including Ohio State (No. 6), Wisconsin (No. 18), and Michigan (No. 21).

Earlier this year, the Nittany Lions checked in at No. 7 in the AP’s preseason poll. They fell behind then-No. 2 Ohio State but ranked before Wisconsin (No. 12), Michigan (No. 16), Minnesota (No. 19), and Iowa (No. 24).

Penn State will kick off its reinstated season against Indiana on Saturday, October 24. The Nittany Lions haven’t yet announced a kickoff time or broadcast destination.
