Penn State Football’s John Dunmore Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Penn State football wide receiver John Dunmore is set to enter the NCAA’s transfer portal.

The Florida native announced his decision via Twitter Monday morning.

“My time at the prestigious Pennsylvania State University has been a wonderful experience,” Dunmore wrote. “Especially the fans, much love for you guys and the atmosphere, but I have decided that parting ways with PSU so I can be closer to home during this time would be in my best interest…”

It was announced earlier this October that Dunmore had withdrawn from Penn State this semester “for personal reasons.”

As a freshman last season Dunmore appeared in just one game, which was Penn State’s 35-7 victory over Purdue. He was never targeted during that game and didn’t pick up any yards.

Dunmore was listed as a second-string wide receiver behind TJ Jones on Penn State’s spring depth chart this past April, but didn’t make the cut on the more recent version due to his decision to withdraw from the program.

The former four-star recruit joins fellow class of 2019 commit Michael Johnson Jr. in the transfer portal. The quarterback announced his decision to enter the portal this past June, but hasn’t gone public with where he’ll end up.
