Well…yikes. Penn State football lost once again Saturday afternoon, ruining yet another weekend for Nittany Lions fans near and far.

Although the season may look bleak, especially with just a handful of games left, it wasn’t all bad. Here are a few amusing things we noticed from the couch, computer, and (virtual) tailgate lots.

Penn State Makes History!

Yeah, baby. Penn State football placed its 2020 season in the record books when it dropped to 0-5 for the first time in team history. The Nittany Lions are also the first to begin the season ranked inside the AP Top 25 Poll’s top 10 and lose their first five games.

Penn State is also guaranteed a losing season for the first time since 2004, ending a streak of 15 straight winning seasons — the nation’s fourth-longest streak.

At this point, why not keep breaking records by losing out? Chalk the season up as a historical outlier, etch yourself into college football history, and get your sights set on next year. Bang.

‘Mo Bamba’ Returns To Beaver Stadium

At long last, the prodigal son song returned.

Sheck Wes’s classic track, “Mo Bamba,” energized Beaver Stadium’s scarce crowd early on during Saturday’s game. Its playing was enough to get a few dozen fans and family members to bust a move in the bleachers.

The song quickly became a fan favorite last season when it, along with the help of #107K Penn State fans, forced Michigan to call a timeout at the beginning of the 2019 White Out. Good times!

‘Generations Of Greatness’ Uniforms Are Still Sexy

Although Penn State’s performance was ugly, it sure as hell didn’t look bad doing it.

The Nittany Lions suited up in their “Generations Of Greatness” uniforms for the first time this season against Iowa. The alternates, which feature white cleats and numbers on helmets, were warmly received by fans and live-tweeting bloggers alike.

The uniforms also feature some smaller touches, including Lion Shrine emblems and decals inside the jersey. Although the alternates didn’t bring much luck Penn State’s way this time around, perhaps we can see them a little more often moving forward.
