Centre Daily Times Digital Access Added To Penn State’s News Readership Program

All Penn State University Park students now have free access to the digital version of the Centre Daily Times.

This addition comes as part of an expansion of the university’s Student News Readership Program, which already includes free digital access to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Print copies of the Centre Daily Times were previously available at stations around campus before they were removed in August.

Students can access the publication by registering with their Penn State email addresses. The university asks students to not use the same password for both their Access Account and for the Centre Daily Times‘ website.

Penn State faculty and staff can also gain access to the digital newspaper by registering here. However, these subscriptions are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Those who take advantage of this program must renew their subscription each semester. Access for the spring 2021 semester will expire on June 27, 2021.

Founded in 1898, Centre Daily Times has been one of the most prominent print newspapers in the State College area ever since. Its inclusion in Penn State’s Student News Readership Program “aims to offer access to trusted journalism, including breaking news and in-depth reporting on important international, national and local issues, while also encouraging newspaper readership for life,” according to the university.
