Penn State Football To Hold Run-On Tryouts Starting February 25

Have you ever wanted to be a #LawnBoy? Do you dream of running out of Beaver Stadium’s tunnel to “Zombie Nation”? Do you want to be the next Carl Nassib? Or, maybe, are you ready to have James Franklin’s core values drilled into your memory?

If so, Penn State football’s walk-on run-on tryouts might be right up your alley.

The Nittany Lions will virtually host an informational meeting for their annual run-on tryouts on Thursday, February 25. The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. via Zoom, and you can sign up through this Google Form.

While Penn State typically announces information about the actual tryouts ahead of time, nothing has been released so far this year. The program, however, said all students trying out must have a negative COVID-19 test in order to attend. You must also be a full-time University Park student.

While the Nittany Lions’ star players are typically recruited into the program, Penn State has a history of run-ons making big impacts. Starting quarterback Matt McGloin and decorated linebacker Carl Nassib are among the most notable.

Perhaps if you make the team and put on enough of your show, you can work your way onto scholarship. Players like Chris Stoll have recently traveled that same path.
