Keegan-Michael Key To Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ May 15
For the first time ever, a Penn Stater is hosting “Saturday Night Live.”
Keegan-Michael Key will host the popular late-night sketch comedy show on Saturday, May 15, alongside musical guest Olivia Rodrigo.
The notable Penn State alumnus-turned-comedian is likely best known for his comedy show alongside Jordan Peele. After starring in several other films and TV shows, Key became one of the biggest stars in comedy since graduating from Penn State in 1996.
Key has remarkably never hosted SNL prior to this weekend. Prior to Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele,” he was once considered for a role as a cast member of SNL but chose to go with MADtv instead, where he met Jordan Peele and ultimately created the titular show.
Key’s appearance on SNL will continue Penn State’s storied history on the late-night show. Just last spring, Penn State students’ candlelight vigil for the fallen College Ave. Taco Bell made an appearance on the show’s “Weekend Update” segment.
