Ryan Frist Named Blue Band’s 61st Drum Major

The Penn State Blue Band has named junior trumpet player Ryan Frist the 61st drum major in program history.

Frist will succeed fellow trumpet player Keith Griffith, the band’s 60th drum major, who graduated this past spring. Griffith followed brothers Jack and Jimmy Frisbee, who were the band’s 59th and 58th drum majors, respectively.

After a full season of not having fans in attendance at Penn State football games, the Blue Band will finally be back in its home in Section SD in September after Penn State Athletics announced its plans to return Beaver Stadium to full capacity. We’ll first get to see Frist lead the Blue Band when the Nittany Lions face Ball State in their home opener on September 11.
