State College ‘LION Bash’ Block Party To Return September 9

Update, August 3: The borough has rescheduled LION Bash event to Thursday, September 9, to avoid conflicts with a religious holiday, according to a press release. It’ll still stretch from 5 to 8 p.m. that night in downtown State College.

Registration forms for engagement stations are still open.

Original Story: The Borough of State College will host its annual LION (Living in One Neighborhood) Bash on Wednesday, September 8 in downtown State College.

The event will kick off at 5 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.

LION Bash is an annual block party for long-term and short-term residents that aims to create a sense of community. Students and Borough resident of all ages are encouraged to attend the event.

The 2019 LION Bash featured plenty of live performances, tailgate games, artists, pets, and even a visit from the Nittany Lion.

“Engagement Stations” will line the 100 to 300 blocks of South Allen Street. Local organizations and businesses can share information, play games, and meet community members.

Interested groups can fill out an online form. Filling out the form does not guarantee a station, but you’ll be among the first organizations to be notified when registration is open. All Engagement Stations wishing to participate this year are asked to abide by all local COVID-19 guidelines at the time of the event.
