Rasheed Walker Drafted No. 249 Overall By Green Bay Packers

Rasheed Walker has found a home in the NFL.

The former Penn State offensive tackle was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the No. 249 overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He now joins fellow Nittany Lion Adrian Amos with the Packers.

Walker has spent the last four seasons as a member of the Nittany Lions and started in 32 of the 36 games he has played in. A four-star and top-100 prospect out of North Point High School in Maryland, Walker joined Penn State back in 2018 when he redshirted as a true freshman after appearing in only four games.

The following season, Walker started all 13 games and covered Sean Clifford’s blindside. He solidified his spot in the starting lineup, showing the Nittany Lions that they had their new starting left tackle for the next few seasons.

In 2020, Walker started all nine games in the COVID-19-shortened season and earned third-team All-Big Ten honors by the media and honorable mention by the coaches. The 2021 season saw Walker start the first ten games of the season.

The Packers will presumably insert Walker into a backup role, with the possibility of turning into a starting offensive lineman in the NFL at some point.
