Penn State Football Wide Receiver Koby Howard Reveals Potential Return Date On Instagram Story

Penn State football star wide receiver Koby Howard may have revealed his injury timeline on an Instagram Story.
Howard will miss an “extended period of time” due to injury, according to Matt Campbell, a huge blow to the Nittany Lions as they enter their conference schedule.
Through three games this season, Howard has eclipsed the 100-yard mark twice and recently exploded for a 70-yard touchdown against Buffalo.
Needless to say, the sophomore wideout is a true difference-maker.
Howard’s absence is a brutal blow for a Penn State team entering the most challenging part of its schedule, including games against Wisconsin, Northwestern, USC, and Michigan.
While Campbell hasn’t provided a specific timeline for Howard’s return, a cryptic post on Howard’s Instagram Story may have teased a potential date.
And if all goes according to plan, Howard’s next game would be, let’s just say, big.

The post featured a bacta tank, “a system used for healing and treating major injuries” in the Star Wars universe.
Abdul Carter repeatedly posted a similar image leading up to the 2025 Orange Bowl against Notre Dame after injuring himself in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal. The manifestation worked well for Carter, who racked up five total tackles and a sack despite the loss.
On top of Howard’s bacta tank image is text that reads “Me and God back soon” and “10/17/26.”
October 17, you say?
That’s the date on which the Nittany Lions take on Michigan in the Big House, one of the season’s most anticipated matchups.
Getting Howard back for the game against the maize and blue would be monumental. Sustained success will be difficult without Penn State’s top receiver on the field, especially against a ranked Big Ten opponent.
The blue and white haven’t won in Ann Arbor since 2020. The last time they won at Michigan Stadium with a non-COVID-restricted crowd was in 2009.
There’s no guarantee the date Howard hopes to return by is reasonable, but hey, one can hope.
