Statement from CCSG President And Vice President

Today we find our University in a state of uncertainty and unrest. The Board of Trustees decision to remove President Spanier and Coach Paterno from their respective positions is not one that came after little thought.

We stand by our university bonded in our pride in the Blue and White and embrace the words of our Alma mater. We urge our fellow students to do the same and take the words “may no act of ours bring shame” to heart and embrace them.

As a student body we wish to stand in solidarity as a collective unit with our university and with a sole end goal in mind, the future of Penn State. In times of triumph and tragedy we are all one Penn State, a student body over 94,000 strong and an alumni network stretching all corners of the world.

The road to recovery begins now, CCSG and the student leadership of the commonwealth campuses firmly stand behind our university in the steps going forward to the advancement of our University.

We shall not let the glory of our University fade solely based on these recent events and we remain focused on our role in the future of Penn State. May our lives but swell thy fame, Dear old State, Dear old State.
