Penn State women's volleyball star Megan Hodge has been lugging around a lot of hardware over the past few months. She started out by being named the AVCA Division 1 Women's Volleyball National Player of the Year and the Penn State Female Athlete of the Year. In the past month, she has also won the Suzy Favor Award (given to the Big Ten's top female performer) and the Honda-Broderick Cup, presented to the best female athlete in the NCAA. And on this coming Wednesday, she could have another honor to add to her already over-loaded trophy case.
It’s Arts Fest time! The festival is so jam-packed with stuff to do, things to buy, bands to listen to, and performances to see that even the most determined won’t be able to do or see everything. So we here at Onward State decided to help a brother out by giving you the highlights.

On Kids Day, $400 pieces of jewelry are put aside in favor of $4.00 handiwork creations. From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Wednesday afternoon, throngs of young entrepreneurs flocked to Allen St. to sell hand-crafted wares from lines of stalls filled with everything from bead necklaces to wooden toys to bound journals.
Though Arts Fest will cater to older tastes as the week goes on, Wednesday was fun for all ages, and especially to those youngsters proudly offering their own particular brand of art.
