The healing process following the loss of a friend, and classmate, requires support of others. The roommates of Courtney O'Bryan, a freshman who passed away this weekend, have organized a candlelight vigil in her honor to be held tonight at 8pm at The Arboretum.
Penn State (6-3) did almost everything right, but couldn't come away with a victory against Ole Miss (7-1) on a special dollar-dog Sunday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.
The Nittany Lions held the lead for the last ten minutes of the second half, but a 7-2 run by the Rebels to finish the game was too much to overcome, as Penn State fell 72-70.
Seconds before matches on Friday and Saturday night were set to begin, the Penn State Women's Volleyball team was acknowledged as being four-time defending national champions by the public address announcer at Rec Hall. That title will remain true for at least four more days. On Saturday night, the Nittany Lions played their final game at Rec Hall for the season, but the quest for a fifth consecutive national championship will continue next Friday at the regional semifinals in Lexington, Kentucky, the opponent being UCLA.

David Taylor beat American's Steve Fittery for the second time in two years to earn the 165 pound championship as Penn State crowned five other champions at the Nittany Lions Open.
Penn State will be going to a bowl game, but it is not the bowl the team and fans had hoped for. The Nittany Lions will play on January 2 against Houston in the TicketCity Bowl in Dallas.
Penn State was passed over by three bowls, who instead took Iowa, Purdue and Ohio State--all teams that Penn State beat this season. However, the Nittany Lions will face a stiff test against Houston. The Cougars were posed for a BCS bowl until Southern Mississippi beat them last Saturday in the Conference USA Championship. Houston finished the season at 12-1, scoring 50.8 points per game.
