Penn State Applies to the FAA for a Drone License

Unmanned aircraft have been crucial in the War on Terror, but are they necessary on a college campus? Penn State University thinks so. The Electronic Frontier Foundation learned the University has petitioned the Federal Aviation Administration for a drone license.

Lady Lions Edge Spartans, 71-56

For the third season in a row, the Penn State Lady Lions clinched a 20-win season when they beat the Michigan State Spartans on Sunday afternoon at the Bryce Jordan Center with a score of 71-56.

Mike the Mailman Brings Smiles to Penn State

On April Fool's Day way back in 1968, Penn State student Mike Herr started working the night shift at the Fraser Street Post Office. Forty-four years later, he’s keeping the joke going. “I just try to have fun and make them see that maybe it’s not as bad as it seems. But they’ll learn that as they grow. You can’t just pick that up on that from the mailman, but maybe they’ll learn something. Down the road, maybe they’ll say the mailman was right. I hope they do.”

Blown Away by the Blonde

State College Community Theatre's stunningly pink performance of Legally Blonde the Musical opened on Friday night at 8 p.m. and continued on Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee and an another show at 8 p.m. All performances took place in front of a sold out crowd.
