Meet Cum Posey, Another Penn Stater in the Baseball Hall of Fame

Cumberland Posey, one of Penn State's first black athletes -- some say he was the first -- , only played professionally for a few years because he discovered his talent was in team management. His business skills made the Homestead Grays one of the most successful teams in Negro league history. It's been said he had a keen eye for choosing young players to develop into star athletes, with Posey having the record to prove it. Posey's team won nine Negro National League championships from 1937 to 1945, including two world titles.

Her battle began around March of last year when she began to notices twitches and small movements. After suffering multiple seizures, the diagnosis was confirmed as cancer. Since the last time we caught up with Kayla, she has hit a couple of "speed bumps," including being taken out of a chemotherapy study and put into a different one because her low blood levels called for a blood transfusion in late November.

Penn State Snaps 18-Game Losing Streak Against Ohio State with 71-70 OT Win

The Nittany Lions entered their seventh conference game of the season with a 1-5 record that just as easily could have been a 5-1 record. Penn State's previous five games had been decided by four points or less, with the Nittany Lions losing four of those Big Ten matchups. Tonight's games in Columbus was just as close, but Penn State was able to win its second conference game in a row with a comeback overtime victory over the #23 Ohio State Buckeyes in a game that looked to be over late in the second half.

Penn State Football Offers Special Season Ticket Deal for Recent Graduates

Penn State football unveiled the Recent Graduate Program for season tickets this afternoon. For those who received an undergraduate degree from the university from 2010-2014, season tickets in the North Upper Deck can be purchased for a 35 percent discount.
