Penn State men's volleyball season couldn't have gotten off to a worse start. The Nittany Lions (now 13-9, 7-0) went winless in the season-opening Outrigger Invitational held in Hawaii, and came back to the mainland to face a brutal stretch of games, including matches against two of the top teams in the country -- Loyola Chicago and Lewis -- on back-to-back nights. Things didn't look too promising, but that all changed after it won decisively on the road against Sacred Heart on Feb. 27.

After a breakout season that saw the part-time defensive end turn into a first team All-Big Ten selection, Zettel received attention among NFL circles as a likely draft pick. Luckily for Bob Shoop and Penn State's defense, Zettel decided to return to the Nittany Lions for a fifth season and a chance to become one of the nation's best.

Charles Schwab and Andrew Carnegie were much more than rivals or industry colleagues; they were friends. They knew one another for over forty years, up until Carnegie’s death in 1919. Though neither of them attended Penn State, they both invested significant sums of money in the university. Their relationship was, in fact, Penn State’s first bromance.

Neha Gupta, the 2014 International Children’s Peace Prize winner, is taking her good deeds to Penn State. Gupta's been in contact with the university in an effort to bring her organization, Empower Orphans, to campus, and hopes to get students excited and involved in the effort. To date, Empower Orphans has raised $1.7 million and helped 25,000 children.
