Penn State refuted whistleblower James Vivenzio's claim that the university did nothing to investigate the hazing allegations he brought forward to them, instead stating he was offered "extraordinary assistance."
"There has never in the history of the universe been a culture change that didn’t require a lot of people to do something," Dorothy Edwards says. "We need to get lots of people at Penn State to each say I will do my moment, and when we get there, our numbers are going to shift."
James Vivenzio, the former Kappa Delta Rho brother who brought the Facebook page to the police's attention, held a press conference today to announce a slew of legal complaints in the aftermath of the KDR scandal. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
The 38 members who were found in violation of policies were expelled by the national chapter, and with the suspension of the fraternity, the remaining members will be placed on alumni status.
