Penn State Named Among Most Gay-Friendly in Nation

A national nonprofit group, Campus Pride, awarded Penn State a five-star rating, effectively naming ours one of the gay-friendliest campuses in the country. Of over 230 institutions surveyed, only 19 were given five out of five stars.

Kildare’s Grand Opening This Thursday

Kildare's Irish Pub, which took over Hooters in late May, is set to host its grand opening party this Thursday night. According to the Facebook event page, local band Velveeta will be playing live at the restaurant.

PSU Only Venue for Deputy Sheriff Training in PA

The only place in the whole Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where deputy sheriffs can be certified is in University Park, at the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute (JASI). Three times each year, the 760-hour Deputy Sheriff Academy program takes place. Spread out over 19 weeks per session, it consists of the in-depth, unique training that such a job demands.
