The Nittany Lions will take to the Bryce Jordan Center one last time this season (until they host a home game in the NIT, that is) on Tuesday night for Senior Night. Jared Sullinger and the number-one ranked Ohio State Buckeyes come to Happy Valley looking to secure a top seed in both the Big Ten Tournament next week and the Big Dance. But why should you make your way to the BJC at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday to cheer the flawed DeChellis regime? Here are some reasons:
1. Talor Battle
2. The other seniors
3. The last postseason push
4. It's the Tuesday before spring break
Read on past the break for a full explanation.
Talor Battle became the first Big Ten player in history to score 2,000 points, dish out 500 assists and grab 500 rebounds in his career with his 13-point, 3-assist performance on Thursday night as Penn State kept their slim tourney hopes alive by defeating Northwestern 66-52.
Penn State has two regular season games left to state their case for the NCAA Tournament. Games against Ohio State and Minnesota leading up to the Big Ten Tournament will be crucial to the Nittany Lions' Selection Sunday delegation.
While Saint Nicholas has gotten all the attention over the years, State Patrick has had nothing written about him. We here at Onward State give you the tale of State College's holiday "hero."
I will not be partaking in State Patty's Day festivities this weekend. This choice has been influenced by the dismantling I've seen done to the downtown area over the past three years. Although I won't be covered in shamrocks or chugging green beer this weekend, I encourage anyone who wants to to do so. Let me explain.
I sat at home Friday afternoon before heading to the Bryce Jordan Center thinking about what I would experience for the next two days. I knew it would be something I never forgot, something that I would take with me for the rest of my life, no matter how old I got. When I returned to my couch on Sunday evening, I realized that I didn't dream big enough.
The final 16 or so hours of THON are probably the biggest emotional roller coaster you will ever go on.
You start off with the thrills of the pep rally, the tears and laughs of dancer mail, the long overnight where anything could happen and Family Hour which occurs in the 43rd hour.
Your brain doesn’t know how to process this at times, something I now know from experience.
