
Senior Abby Detering was spectacular Friday in College Station, posting a triple-double in No. 5 Penn State's 3-1 win over the top-ranked Cardinal to open the Texas A&M Tournament.

Polk was named Penn State's "Touchdown King" of training camp, while Taylor took home "Takeaway King" honors for hauling in the most interceptions.

Marissa Sheva said she used to be tentative with the ball at her feet when a chance on net arose. This season, the junior midfielder has been an absolute force in front of the goal.

"I've always been very excited about Christian Campbell, another guy with great length who is explosive and can run," Brent Pry said. "He's the healthiest he's ever been in his career here at Penn State."

While there wasn't a whole lot of commotion at the top of the depth chart, competition for a handful of backup jobs should be fierce Saturday.

Senior outside hitter Ali Frantti recorded her 1,000th career kill Saturday night as No. 6 Penn State swept the Mountaineers 25-16, 25-15, 25-5.
