
Last week we explored Penn's Cave, one of the more commercialized outdoor day-trip spots in Centre County. This week, we make a 180° and look at a much more hidden hangout, only a half hour drive from State College.

The Underground Artisans Marketplace (UAM) held its alternative arts and crafts show on Saturday afternoon at the Schlow Centre County Library. Previously held at Chronic Town, the Artisans moved to Schlow for the first time to increase exposure to the community.

Friday night, those in a packed Eisenhower were given a sense of the diversity of the jazz realm featuring two legends Dave Brubeck and Ramsey Lewis. Brubeck, regarded as one of the all-time greatest jazz pianists and musical innovators since the 1940’s, provided a glimpse into a different era of jazz music. It was an experience that any jazz afficionado or musician of any preference would relish.
