Minnesota captured the Big Ten regular season title and finished off its sweep of Penn State hockey by a score of 6-2 on Saturday night.

In the biggest game of the season to date, Penn State was outclassed by No. 15 Minnesota on Friday in Minneapolis, conceding three goals in the the opening minutes in a 5-0 loss.

Penn State dropped its third straight game on Friday, falling to Western Carolina 4-2 in the first game of the Liberty Baseball Invitational in Lynchburg, Va.

D.J. Newbill didn't have the greatest game of his career, shooting 6-18 from the field for 19 points, but his scoring and Ross Travis' star turn over the last three days kept the Lions in it to the bitter end. If it's the last game either man plays in blue and white, they should be proud of their efforts this week at the United Center. Let's hope they get another game together.
