PSU Track and Field Smashes Records on the Road

The Penn State Men and Women's Indoor Track and Field squad left their marks across the country over the weekend. While the middle- and long-distance squads traveled to the Husky Classic at the University of Washington in Seattle, the jumps, sprints and throws groups traveled to the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Sophomore Robby Creese, also known as Creese Lightening, competed in the Invitational Mile at the Husky Classic and ran to a school-record time of 3:57.11. Finishing third behind three professional runners and a 2012 Olympian, Creese held his own in a loaded pack and jump-started his sophomore season that catapulted him up the rankings list. Proceeding Creese's 3:57 mile, senior Sam Masters took over the record-book with his time of 7:54.52 for 3,000 meters -- which has stood since 1989.
